i love you, but i love me more

The Sex and the City movie just came off of Netflix, so I watched it and while the clothes were fine I didn't like them as much as I liked Charlotte's face.

The orgasmic with joy face

The "You pissed me off so much I'm going into labor" face

The "That bitch can't do that!" face

Favorites, in order from first to last: Charlotte, Samantha, Carrie, Miranda

After seeing this movie, my closet felt woefully inadequate so I went shopping the next day with some friends and fell in love with this bag:

Besides the fact that it has the completely adorable cherry print, it's bargain Kate Spade. Yes!
The consignment store near my house has officially become my new best friend.

new year? what?

Ok, so as my meager amount of readers may have noticed, I haven't posted for a WHILE.

But I can explain! Really, I can.
I've been busy in the worst possible sense of the word. Read: busy with schoolwork. Read deeper: FINALS
a) are a MASSIVE waste of time
b) have an unreasonably high standard - who really remembers everything we did the entire year?

So, those ended. My excuse for not posting after that is...well...I got lazy.
But now I am back!
And more posts will follow, I promise.

taking it off cause I feel a fool, trying to dress up when I'm missing you

I decided to do my first outfit post, so don't judge to harshly...compared to all of the amazing styles people post.
Today in NorCal it was rainy and foggy, so a flannel shirt seemed appropriate.

(sorry about the crap picture, I was in a hurry when I took it)
shirt: from my neighbor's garage sale
jeans. Buffalo Express
flats: Urban Outfitters
jewelry: various places

It is finally fall here, which is good for me because I'm one of those people who like cold better than warm...I live in California so it's kind of blasphemy to like cold here. But here is a list of reasons why:

Wearing things that are knitted
Hot drinks
Seeing my breath
Wellies
Not running in P.E because of rain
Tights
Games and outdoor events where it's too cold to go with only a couple of people and you need a huge group for warmth
People are huggier when it's cold out....or maybe that's just here
Waking up and falling asleep to the sound of rain

Anthony Rapp came to my school and gave a lecture on Thursday night, and the Rent cast performed Seasons Of Love and La Vie Boheme. Of course, he and I had an extremely scintillating conversation:

My singing teacher, who is friends with him: Anthony, this is Sophia and Emma (my friend who was with me at the time). They didn't get in. Make them feel better.
Me: Umm...hi....yeah...ummm....Rent is a really cool show
E: Yeah, well, hi, uh, yeah...
AR: Well, getting rejected is such a huge part of theater. You have to take the good with the bad, you know? Are those brownies on the dessert table over there?
Our conversation basically ended there.

Hope everyone has a fantastic fall filled with lots of warm scarves and snuggling.

do a split, give a yell, throw a fit for old rydell

It occurs to me that i gave the impression that I had already gotten Rizzo, so let me clear something up: Rizzo was the part that I wanted. But the cast list went up on Tuesday night, after days of me compulsively checking my email, and here is what I am:

Whoot! i have never really been the cheerleader-y type, but this is going to be fun.

Also, I have to share my latest YouTube obsession:

I could watch these for HOURS. Seriously. If I'm bored enough.

alone in the universe (song title from...)

back from tahoe; very very funny story but you must be able to actually see the picture to make it funny, so that will be posted as soon as I get it...

and now that I am back for a week before I go to Jew camp (as I like to call it)(because Jews know how to party)(not being sarcastic, I swear) and my life is as follows:

. going to dance class (which is the most fun - theater people are the best ;P)
. reading the Illiad (summer reading for school...I think I'll go die now)
. cleaning out my room

The challenge:

yes, this is what I am currently sorting through; this is how I'm dividing it:

the "wtf? was I insane when I bought this?" pile

the "crazy shit I would never ever wear but am keeping anyway" pile

the "old lady clothing from my aunt who seems to think that we have the same taste in clothes so I'll keep this stuff to spare her feelings" pile

the "must keep this for sentimental reasons" pile

the "keep simply because it is cute" pile

the "toss because it is ugly and makes me look like I was dressed by a drunk toddler" pile

which basically covers about everything in my closet...

the title at the top is from Seussical btw. which I was actually in, in 5th grade. I was a wickersham brother and the three of us had afros and leather pants.
